Former governor of Oyo State, Engr Omololu Olunloyo has denounced his daughter; self-acclaimed International Journalist, Media/PR Expert and Guns Victims Activist Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo.
The former governor said he was denouncing the Canadian deportee for her “utterly irresponsible, libelous and scandalous writings.
The former governor, in a statement released on Thursday, tendered his unreserved apologies to the general public who have been affected by the painful statements.
“I hope and pray they would accept apology,” the former governor of Old Oyo State said in the statement.
“There seem to be a curious pair of writers, an Aboderin from Ireland and Kemi Olunloyo, who act separately and sometime in unison.
“Some of their most unfortunate victims are their half siblings. Others of higher status in the society are ex-President Obasnjo and quite recently, clergymen with large respectable following such as the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye, a brilliant fellow mathematician; an inspired Bishop Oyedepo and the inimitable Reverend T.B Joshua, all learned men. She includes me her father. All the four of us, she dubs ritualists. Of course, none of us, as far as iknow, is anything of the the sort. She has gone far as to accuse us of sexual crime and gone too far to give the social media itself a dubious name, in terms of uncontrolled freedom to assault others.
The former governor said no one who has read some of the things written by his daughter would have any doubt about her spiritual or psychiatric status.
The ex-governor said: “There are some unpleasant encounters she has had in Nigeria, Ireland, USA (Baltimore and Atlanta) and Canada. They have to be taken out or the social media access and the normal society.
“Occasions have arisen when the late Ooni Sijuwade had had to bail her out of prison custody. By the Hippocratic oath, it will be out of order, except in camera to disclose her mental state which is nothing to be proud of.
Olunloyo said the 52-year-old thinks freedom is something that ca be exercised arbitrarily at the expense of other people’s freedom.
He expressed gratitude to all to all who have supported him since his daughter began throwing shameful public tantrums.
He apologised to everyone including Jide Kosoko who have at one time or the other been touched by his daughter’s shameful behaviour.
He dissociated himself from all the activities of Kemi, saying such is the pain some big families have to endure some times.
He said: “I hereby denounce and dissociate myself from all her views against individuals and groups, including spiritual icons and private individuals.
“She must accept responsibility for her action and utterances as well as the consequence.
“My condemnation is total and not in any instance defensible.
“I denounce her in totality and dissociate myself from all her reckless utterances. My position is absolutely clear. She has gone too far and needlessly so. Thank you everybody.”
Complete Text Engineer (Dr) Omololu Olunloyo`s statement read:
“I, Engineer (Dr) Omololu Olunloyo, Mechanical Engineer, Mathematician, Politician and 1983 NPN Governor of Oyo, wish unequivocally to denounce one of my daughters, Ms. Kemi Omololu Olunloyo as she calls herself with various utterly irresponsible and scandalous writings.
The statements are utterly irresponsible, libelous and repeatedly painful. I would like to apologize without reservation to all persons affected. I hope and pray they would graciously accept the apology. There seems to be a curious pair of writers, an Aboderin resident in Ireland and Kemi Olunloyo, who sometimes curiously act separately and sometimes in unison. Some of their most unfornate victims are their half siblings. Others of higher status in the society are ex-President Obasanjo and quite recently, clergymen with large respectable following such as the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, a brilliant fellow Mathematican; an inspired Bishop Oyedepo and the inimitable Reverend T. B. Joshua, all learned men. She includes me, her father. All the four of us she dubs ritualists. Of course, none of us, as far as I know, is anything of the sort. She has gone as far as to accuse us of various sexual crime and gone too far to give the social media itself a dubious name in terms of uncontrolled freedom to assault others.
No one who has read some of these things will have any doubt about her spiritual or psychiatric status. There are also some unpleasant encounters she has had in Nigeria, Ireland, USA (Baltimore and Atlanta) and Canada. They have to be taken off the social media access in the normal society. Occasions have a arisen when the late Ooni Sijuwade had to bail her out of prison custody. By the Hippocratic oath, it will be out of order, except in camera to disclose her mental state which is nothing to be proud of. At 52 she thinks of freedom as something one can exercise arbitrarily at the expense of any other person's freedom.
Of late, in the last 4 weeks or so, she had the audacity to pass irreverent and hopeless comments on one of our national talented artist, Prince Jide Kosoko , whom I admire so much, calling him a black widower as he has unfortunately lost three wives. The Aboderin woman also matched Governor Abiola Ajimobi and Ms.Kemi Olunloyo in an embarrassing way. I think this and all the intra and extra family attacks are unprovoked, irresponsible, and unwarranted.
I had thought of 52, Kemi will be able to further train your mind and cease to be an embarrassment to herself and members of her her nuclear, extended family, and to the general public. I think the pastors and psychiatrist like Dr. Lasebikan who have gone to great lengths of their own personal cost to restrain her from her excesses and recklessness. I disassociate myself entirely from her conduct and statement. She had serially embarrassed me at one time or the other in United States. Every big family sometimes does contain awkward members. I apologize unreservedly to all those who these things have offended and those who have helped, like Tunde Kelani. Kemi does not know the meaning and dangers of freedom. One person's freedom intersects with other people's freedom and there is no absolute freedom. This is an unfortunate phenomenon which has needlessly to see gone far, too far. I hear by denounce and disassociate myself from all her views against individuals and groups, including spiritual icons and private individuals. She must accept responsibility for her actions and utterances as well as the consequence. My condemnation is total and not in any instance defensible I did not see her in a totally and disassociate myself from all her reckless utterances. My position is absolutely clear. She has gone too far and needlessly so. Thank you everybody.”
