It was an unexpected hurricane in the cabinet of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State on Wednesday as the governor sacked four of his commissioners.
No other reason was given for their sack than his decision to strengthen the system towards optimal performance.
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Lucky James; Commissioner for Women Affairs, Maigida Blessing; Commissioner for Basic Education, Patrick Aguinede; and Commissioner for Energy and Water Resources, Chris Ebare, all had their appointments terminated with immediate effect and asked to hand-over all government properties in their care to the Permanent Secretaries of their ministries.
In the short announcement, Governor Oshiomhole thanked the affected commissioners for their support and service while in office.
He also wished them well in their future endeavours.
